Old buildings, quite possibly a hundred years or more old, which were renovated and modified to suit the practicalities and comforts of living in the twenty-first century, line the streets of Victoria Square West and Shine Street. Insulated windows, air-conditioners, burglar-proofing, tall walls and barbed wire are common, and look interesting adorning the ‘colonial style’ buildings, set beside examples of more modern architecture.
