Overheard at Protest on City Hall
―Published on 12th February, 2016 by Shaun Rambaran.
In response to Port of Spain Mayor, Raymond Tim Kee’s views that the unlawful death and suspected rape of Japanese panplayer, Asami Nagakiya, was a result of her ‘lewd’ Carnival costume , a protest on City Hall was arranged for noon on Friday February 12th, 2016 at Woodford Square, opposite City Hall.
A handful of supporters opted to wear their own Carnival costumes in addition to their placards. Groups of passersby gathered — some in favour of, some simply curious, and some in opposition to the demonstration.
The following commentary by two, unknown and independent observers, one male and one female, were overheard and recorded as audiographs.
